My name is Megan, and I am the owner of Little Red Bakery. One woman show right here!
Why ‘Little Red Bakery’? My journey into creating baked goods, started with a humble little red velvet cupcake. Also, if you are aware of the classic tale, Little Red Riding Hood, she brings a basket of cake and wine to her sick grandmother - that’s me! Bringer (and eater) of cake and wine :)

Before becoming a pastry chef, I studied nursing in 2009, though I never completed it as I had my first child. After that, I studied to become a primary school teacher in 2011. I also didn’t complete this degree, as I had a second babe. It was then, as a stay-at-home mum of 2, that I found my passion for baking. I continued to self teach, until 2015 I finally decided to enroll full time in a Patisserie course. This, dear friends, I had completed!

Little Red Bakery was still a part-time gig for me, as I commenced my start in the pastry world, and landed a job at The Grounds of Alexandria. It was here that I learnt SO SO MUCH about pastry life, from my fellow chefs, and about working in a commercial kitchen, leaving home at 4:00AM, prepping before the sun came up, coming home late arvo, being mum, then prepping cakes from home until late at night, and do it all over again the next day. Fast forward 3 years, I became pregnant with baby number 3 - thus finishing my role 2020 at The Grounds.

Now here I am, ready to share my creations with you.
